Linda L. Zalusky “I Care Award”

Linda Zalusky was a counselor who was totally committed to her profession. She spent the majority of her career in the Cherry Hill School District. First, as an English teacher and then as a school counselor at Cherry Hill High School East, Linda was a mentor to counselors in Camden County as well as to students. She was an innovator who developed a variety of counseling programs, and a tireless counselor who epitomized the word “caring.” The ” I Care” Award was created and named to honor her not only for all she gave to her students, but for the many years she spent being a leading force for CCSCA and making a difference for all in Camden County. She was selfless in her dedication. Also, Linda was there in the early years of the fledgling CCSCA organization and was instrumental in the early success of “Focus on Your Future” College Fair. She was caring and inspiring – a person who always wanted to do more for her students and for the profession. She believed that all students deserved a chance and worked to help each one of them to use all their abilities. The purpose of the “I Care” Award is to recognize and celebrate one student from each school in the county who was caring in their daily life. She was a blessed individual who found her real calling. This is Linda’s legacy.

We are happy to share her legacy with you and your counselees. As school counselors, it is truly one of the greatest joys to acknowledge students who deserve positive recognition.
